Udawalawe (approx. 4 hrs. – 230km)

Udawalawe National Park is a national park in Sri Lanka that borders the provinces of Uva and Sabaragamuwa. With the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir, a sanctuary for wild animals was created. The park covers 32,315 hectares, which includes the reservoir, which contains microhabitats such as marshes, the Walawe River and its tributaries, woods, and open grasslands. The park is well-known for its distinctive appearance, which includes extensive areas of thick grass, bushes, and trees. This national park is home to elephants, sambar, chital, and wild boar, as well as a very small leopard population. It also has brown fish owls, grey-headed fish eagles, changeable hawk-eagles, crested serpent eagles, western marsh harriers, white-bellied sea eagles, shikras, black-shouldered kites, and common kestrels.

Child Policy
  • Children between two and six years are given a discount of 60 percent of the per-person adult rate on transfers, excursions, and package tours provided they share a room with two adults.
  • Children between seven to twelve years old are given a 50 percent discount on the per-person adult rate on transfers, excursions, and package tours provided they share a room with two adults.
  • A maximum of two children per party are granted the above-mentioned discounts. Children who require their own rooms are charged as adults.
